Red Branch is thrilled to unveil our new apprenticeship program!
Application materials are now online and will be accepted beginning on January 15th. Are you interested in hearing more about what it means to be a Red Branch apprentice? Here’s a quick note from Founding Apprentice Sarah Luckadoo outlining what she has been up to since she arrived here this summer.
“I recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a BFA in Acting in May of 2016. Towards the end of my senior year, I wanted my next step to be part of an environment where I could continue to learn and expand on my academic training. I began researching apprenticeship programs in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area. I’ve always been taught that if I really wanted acting to be my career, I’d have to be willing to always learn, always grow, and always work harder than anyone else. I was drawn to Red Branch because I felt that their mission and the work that they do coincides with my artistic goals. So… long story short, I flew to Maryland in April and saw RBTC’s production of Sweeney Todd and met with Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes. After chatting, we both decided that we were ready to build a program and working relationship that would benefit one another. Since moving here in July, I’ve been involved in everything from teaching workshops and camps to serving in various production roles in Mainstage productions of Heathers: the Musical, Evil Dead: the Musical, and The Happy Elf. I recommend this program to anyone that is truly passionate both about theatre and making it as an artist in an ever-changing market. If you love what you do and you’re willing to work hard and learn every day, then this is the place for you.”
